What You Say Matters!

What are SOTEs / SOLATEs ?

The Student Opinion of Teaching Effectiveness (SOTE) and Student Opinion of Laboratory and Activity Teaching Effectiveness (SOLATE) surveys assess student perceptions of teaching effectiveness.

Institutional Research and Strategic Analytics conducts the official teaching evaluations at SJSU using Anthology Course Evaluations. Students' identities are kept confidential. View the University Policy that governs how SOTEs and SOLATEs are administered.

Your opinion counts!

SJSU values students’ opinions about their experiences in the classes they take. SOTEs and SOLATEs are an official teaching evaluation tool of San Jose State University. It is a chance to share with your instructors what worked and what did not.

Why submit an evaluation?

SJSU faculty value what students think. Your evaluation could help improve future classes. SOTE/SOLATE results are considered as part of the faculty review process.
